Event: Athol Hall Wedding Ceremony & Reception, Mosman, September 2012
Persons: Approx.100
Details: Back at Athol Hall again. For this wedding they wanted music outdoors for the ceremony & for canapes after so we set up a sub speaker & main speaker out on the verandah. Later we moved these back indoors for the reception. We supplied 2 x Bose 802 speakers, 2 Bose MB4 subs, amplifier & mixer. The bride & groom programmed everything into their iPad & just gave it to me to play which worked really well. Here's a gallery of pics too.

Event: 50th birthday, West Ryde, September 2012

Details: Last Saturday was the 50th birthday of Steve, bass player from the Neveready band. The weather was great & everyone enjoyed the live music. It was good to see quite a few take to the stage & contribute something special. As for the song of the night, It would have to be close between Zepplin's "Whole Lotta Love", the Kiss classic "I Was Made For Loving You" & Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" including some pretty cool Harmonica.Hope you had a great birthday Steve!

Details:Back for the Taronga Zoo staff presentations this year. It was held in the Harbourview Ballroom which was a great room. About 300 attended & were entertained again by The Rough Lemurs band.
Event: The Rally of the Bay, Batemans Bay, September 2012

Details: The Rally of the Bay was great. I've never been there before but it's very cool place. Both the family & I had a good time there. It was a big day with 3 different venues & no mains power.
Event: Letters to Home EP Launch, Cat & Fiddle Hotel, Balmain, June 2012

Details: There was a good turn out. Thanks to David from Econosound for supplying the EV ZXA1 speakers. We used 2 for mains + 3 for foldback. These little 8 inch boxes are rated to an amazing 800 watts (not that it was needed for this event). All the bands played well & were well received by the crowd. Great work guys & girls!
Event: 50th birthday, North Rocks, June 2012

Details: The party included 2 rock bands. Being a small brick room this was going to be a challenge. We brought along some acoustic baffles to place behind the drums. The organiser also brought a large carpet which helped greatly too. The results were actually better than I thought & the customer was very happy. See his comment here. We supplied "System 3" with EV SX80's as foldback.One of the band members has already booked us for their 50th also. Here's a video. Just to be fair to the Mighty Heroes, they had a somewhat wasted patron "helping" them out on vocals for Honky Tonk Woman. When I turn 50 I hope I've got the same energy as these party goers - they just kept dancing till about 2AM.

Event: War Memorial Opening, Brooklyn, April 2012

Details: This was well attended event. Along with the public there were many VIP's & defence force personal including the navy band. We supplied2 x Bose 802 speakers, wireless mic & foldback. The system easily covered the broad area of the audience. Since there was no power available at the park we supplied a Honda silenced generator.

Details: Back again this year for the yacht club annual dinner. This year we supplied the video projection also. Again we deployed a system of distributed Bose 302A speakers around the room which gave even coverage as well as blending into the environment well.

Event: Race Horse Sale, Wisemans Ferry, February 2012
Persons: Approx. 150
Details: Legendary race horse trainer Gai Waterhouse led the sale at the beautiful Muskoka stud. We supplied 2 x Bose 802 main speakers & 4 Bose 302A speakers. In order to cover the long distance (around 50 meters) the 302A's were set up with a delayed signal to give clear sound without noticeable echo. We also supplied a Shure SM87 wireless microphone & a secondary background music system for the boatshed meal gathering.

Details: This was a most enjoyable event. Acoustically the area worked well & the band & singers were extremely good. We brought along delay speakers but they weren't required. The area was evenly covered by 2 x Bose 802 + 1 MB12 sub speaker. We also supplied 1 Soundcraft M8 mixer, Yamaha SPX90 reverb, 1 x Bose 1600VI & 1 x 1800VI amplifier.

Details: Well known singer/songwriter Cory Hargreaves performed at this staff presentation. They needed a super compact system that could be setup quickly so the new Roland digital micro desk was used along with 2 x Bose 302A speakers, Yamaha SPX90 reverb & Bose 1600VI amplifier. This was all setup in 15 minutes. The equipment was custom racked & pre-wired for the event to save time.

Details: A beautiful outdoor wedding location. Supplied upgraded "System 1" This included 4 x Bose 302A speakers & 2 x MB4 subs. 2 x 302A's + 1 MB4 were used for the ceremony then later moved to the dance floor in the marquee with other pair for extra dance music power. Background music was played throuout the afternoon. Cost was $390 delivered.

Event:Lucky Australian Tavern Band Competition, August 2011, St Marys

Details: The bands were playing some fairly heavy music outdoors so the PA needed a bit of power but without breaking the bank. Supplied 2 x RCF 400w powered speakers, 1 x Bose MB12 sub, 2 Accoustic Technolgies foldbacks. The vocals were nice & loud & with some tweaking we got adequate kick drum & bass. More pictures here.

Details: The event was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first flight from Sydney Airport by JJ Hammond. The PA system was provided primarily for speeches & some background music. 2 x 302A speakers & 1 MB4 sub covered the area easily even with modest aircraft noise.

Details: Now this has to go into the "crazy but true" basket. It seems they needed a 1980's Yamaha digital reverb (the SPX90) and I had one of the few of these available for hire in Sydney. What an honor to supply gear to one of the great musical legends.

Details: The venue was the Royal Motor Yacht Club. The corporate client wanted professional sound for their multimedia presentations in a noisy environment. 4 Bose 302A's were distributed around the room. 2 were used for the main speakers & the others to compensate for high frequency loss in 1 corner & under an awning. An MB4 sub was used also.

Event: ALP Fundraiser Dinner, March 2011, Parramatta

Details: The venue was the Tingah Palace restaurant inside the Parramatta Leagues club. It was clear that it was going to be a challenge to cover such a large restaurant of vocal, enthusiastic diners with limited speaker placement options & several tables obscured by glass partitions. In the end 3 x Bose 302A speakers & 1 MB4 sub speaker were used.The two end speakers were arrayed towards the obscured tables. The venue owner was skeptical that these compact speakers would be adequate but it turned out there was more than enough volume & clarity to overcome the high background noise. The extra height speaker stands meant that guests sitting underneath were not blasted with sound whilst those in the far corners still had plenty of level. Ex premier Bob Carr was guest speaker.

Details: DJ & duet. Supplied 2 x Bose 302A speakers, 1 x MB12 sub speaker, 2 x Bose amplifiers, mixer & folback. This venue presented some problems. Being outdoors there was a lot of sound dissapation. The very long & curved area where guests were congregated made it a long throw partly blocked by one of the structures. The 700 watt system had to run at full power. In the end the system was adequate & the organisers were happy.
